  1. To apply for nursing jobs in UK, the first requirement is to be a qualified nurse with a nursing degree and at least one year’s work experience in the nursing role.
  2. The next step is to prove your English language skills. You need to prove that you can speak, read, and write well in English. This is one of the important parts of coming to the UL and working in the healthcare department. You must have the ability to communicate with patients and co-workers.

For proving your efficiency, you can take two exams- IELTS or OET. There are differences between the two exams, and the exam must be chosen depending on the individual preferences and skillsets.

  1. The next step is to complete your interview. Once you pass the IELTS or OET with required scores, your interview will be set up with the employer via Skype or a similar platform. This will be your opportunity to prove why you are fit for the nursing role in the UK. You can also ask questions from your side.
  2. All nurses in UK must be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council. Registration needs you to take the computer-based test. The test is taken online and has 120 MCQs that need to be completed in 4 hours.
  3. Once you pass the computer adaptive test, nurses are called for Objective Structured Clinical Examination, which is a test, to understand the clinical proficiency of nurse. This test is held in UK.
  4. After you pass your clinical test, you will be asked to submit several documents to NMC so that they can access if you are a good fit for the role in UK nursing. Once they receive all documents, you have to wait for up to 60 working days for a decision letter from NMC.
